Otsuka Foods to Introduce 100% Recycled PET Bottles for JAVA TEA
Lessening Environmental Impact by Reducing CO₂ Emissions
to Contribute to a Sustainable Society

TOKYO, Japan, March 13, 2025—Otsuka Foods Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo Ward, Osaka; President: Goro Ikeuchi) announced today that it is introducing 100% recycled PET bottles for 270 ml and 500 ml Sinvino JAVA TEA Straight. Rollout of the new bottles began in February 2025. This is expected to reduce CO₂ emissions from PET plastic by 63% per bottle.*1

In the Otsuka Group Plastic Policy,*2 established with the aim of contributing to a sustainable society, the Otsuka group set the goal of using recycled and plant-based materials in all of its PET bottles by 2030.

Otsuka Foods is also working to lessen the environmental impact of its products by reducing plastic usage, for instance, by actively employing environmentally friendly technologies and reducing the weight of PET bottles and bottle caps.

The Company will be introducing 100% recycled PET bottles for the JAVA TEA brand, planning to switch all bottles used for four items — Red 270 ml, White 270 ml, Red 500 ml, and White 500 ml — by summer 2025.

Going forward, Otsuka Foods will continue developing environmentally friendly products to contribute to a sustainable society.
