Otsuka Foods to Release “Bon Curry NEO Ninniku Mashi Mashi: Hot”
Enhanced Umami with Double the Garlic, Beef Sauteed in Red Wine, and a Rich Sauce
In Stores across Japan from March 17, 2025

TOKYO, Japan, February 5, 2025—Otsuka Foods Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo Ward, Osaka; President: Goro Ikeuchi) announced today that it will release “Bon Curry NEO Ninniku Mashi Mashi (Extra Garlic): Hot,” made with double the amount of garlic.* The new curry will be available across Japan on March 17, 2025.

Background
Otsuka Foods launched Bon Curry as the world’s first commercial retort-pouch food product on February 12, 1968, using innovative original technology. Since then, Bon Curry has been loved by many consumers as the standard choice for retort curry. Otsuka Foods has continued to enhance the lineup to meet consumers’ diversifying tastes.

More recently, the market for hot and spicy retort curries has been growing, and there has also been an increase in garlic-flavored products. Moreover, customers have asked for “a product that provides a bigger garlic punch.” Otsuka Foods has responded by developing this delicious new curry.

Product Features
• Customers can enjoy a rich taste with plenty of garlicy flavor and umami.
• The amount of garlic has been doubled to create a powerful, satsifying taste.
• Gochujang (Korean red chili paste) has been added to make the curry spicier and enhance its umami.
• The product is made with beef sauteed in red wine and a sauce with a rich flavor, both features of the Bon Curry NEO series.
